Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager of Pricing will be tasked with overseeing the consistent approach and strategic thinking behind pricing and approval processes. Primary responsibility involves taking charge of the pricing process, generating strategic pricing recommendations, and presenting them to senior leadership.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and modeling based on key pricing inputs to formulate optimal pricing recommendations.
  • Summarize analysis findings and present recommendations to senior management.
  • Identify and underscore key strategic considerations for each pricing request.
  • Coordinate the collection of cost, volume, revenue, and operational information across business units.
  • Consolidate and manage pricing knowledge to offer better context for pricing decisions.
  • Identify, execute, and oversee specific initiatives aimed at enhancing the company's ability to design and price products effectively.
  • Identify and implement improvements in analytical techniques and data infrastructure to elevate the quality of pricing decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of post-MBA business experience in an analytical capacity in fields such as management consulting, risk management, marketing analytics, or financial analysis.
  • Highly self-motivated with a proven track record of taking ownership.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in both English & Japanese.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced financial modeling skills using MS Excel.
    • Basic to intermediate skills in Visual Basic, SQL, R, SPSS, SAS, JMP, or an alternative statistical package.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Advanced mathematical-based methodologies to predict or support conclusions or theories, encompassing statistical analysis, algebra, and calculus.
 
Professional Competencies:
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to construct complex financial models to understand issues at a detailed level and forecast impacts of change.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts and findings to non-experts in both written and verbal communication.
  • Exceptional business insight and strategic orientation.
  • Critical thinking skills in formulating hypotheses, interpreting results, and making informed decisions when data may be limited.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to navigate high levels of ambiguity.
