The Technology Application Development and Architecture Lead is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team and collaboration with business stakeholders and global technology partners to drive a variety of engineering and software development activities, including technology strategy, application architecture design, development, quality assurance, and deployment of software.

Your company is on a multi-year initiative to build best-in-class Technology Solutions to enable business growth. This role is a senior technical leadership role that will lead the execution of technology strategy for both local and global systems supporting the Japan TTS franchise.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage/develop multiple professionals in-country and offshore teams to accomplish business delivery goals and ensure the team adheres to best engineering practices.
  • Develop and execute project management best practices to ensure high-quality delivery of business solutions and regulatory and compliance commitments.
  • Lead and own the execution of vendor system development
  • Identify, establish and maintain strategic partnerships with executives from technology vendors within assigned areas and coordinate to influence vendor product roadmaps to be in line with strategic goals.
  • Own the execution of all technology governance-required forums and processes.
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions and communicate with external parties as necessary.
  • Provide technical leadership in designing highly complex systems and drive strategic implementation of local, regional and global systems.
  • Review the current system landscape and drive to modernize systems and align with global strategy.
  • Provide Architecture support for Strategic Initiatives in the technology group.
  • Engage with Strategic Initiatives to help scope and shape those initiatives to ensure the outcomes are aligned to the Engineering and Architecture Practices (EAP), including formulating detailed boundaries, connections and deployments.
  • Partner with Regional/Global platform owners to ensure Risk and Control items in the regions are under check.
  • Champion engineering excellence by actively promoting and governing development standards and principles.
  • Own, manage and apply architecture governance on systems inventory, lifecycle management on IT assets and reduce technical debt.
  • Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls, documentation, and approvals, including implementation of new and revised regulatory requirements
  • Research and resolve issues, provide recommendations, and escalate to senior management as needed.
